Delta Airline Plane

Last week, it was Dana airline that had one of its doors yanking out after landing in Lagos. Now, it is Delta Airline. Its plane made an emergency landing at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, after the left engine of the aircraft caught fire in mid-air Wednesday morning.
Credit goes to the pilot who noticed that the left engine had caught fire. A report said he contacted the control tower at the Lagos Airport immediately to prepare for emergency landing.
Consequently, aviation emergency officials swung into action and immediately placed fire fighters on standby. After landing successfully, all the passengers aboard were quickly evacuated via the emergency sliding door within a few minutes.
According to the report, some of the distraught passengers were taken to a nearby hotel after the flight was cancelled and rescheduled for a date yet to be specified and communicated.
However, some passengers and members of the crew sustained casualties and have been taken to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja, Air Force Base Clinic and the Medical Center of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, for quick medical attention.
Expectedly, the incident led to a closure of the runway, which prevented KLM, Lufthansa and Air France, already positioned for take- off from departing.
