Eight years can be a hell of a time for a star-singer to hibernate. He or she could lose his or her voice. How about the fans? Not Folasade Adu, better known as Sade Adu. The Nigerian-British soul singer, has resurfaced from what her fans call Limbo. She has recorded a new song for the impending American film, ‘A Wrinkle in Time’.
A Wrinkle in Time is an upcoming American science fantasy adventure film directed by Ava DuVernay from a screenplay by Jennifer Lee, and based on the 1962 novel of the same name by Madeleine L’Engle.
The film, which will be released on March 9, stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, Storm Reid and others.
Putting the news on her Twitter page, Du Vernay shared the news last week by stating, “I never thought she would say yes, but asked anyway. She was kind + giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I’ll never forget.”
In her unique crowing voice, Sade dished out what she entitled, “Flower of the universe”. It is the first new song from her since 2010 when she released her sixth album, “Soldier of Love”.
