President, George Weah of Liberia

The Congressional Black Caucus, CBC, an umbrella group for all elected African-Americans serving in the US Congress, has hailed President George Weah of Liberia for inaugurating several senior government officials in fulfillment of his mandate as Head of State.
Although the event held last Wednesday was not the first commissioning ceremony performed by President Weah since he was sworn in on January 22 this year, the latest event included almost all cabinet ministers, directors of autonomous agencies and presidential advisors.
The CBC said President Weah selected people of proven competence and integrity to work with him in meeting the urgent needs of Liberians. At the occasion held in the Cecil Dennis Auditorium at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Weah reminded the commissioned officials of the enormity of their respective responsibilities, which should not be seen as solely for themselves but for the general well-being and interest of the Liberian people.
President Weah said he has no fear of making decisions intended to impact the people of Liberia, and therefore urged relatives of all government officials to encourage their relations in government to work in the interest of the people.
He further placed emphasis on the issue of performance in his government as a serious matter, and said those occupying positions in government should not relent or renege in prioritizing their performances.
