EGYPT BOASTS OF ITS MILITARY COMBAT READINESS

Since the humiliation which Egypt suffered in the hands of Israeli war commanders during the Six-Day War of 1967, the North African country has been cautious not to let its guards down again, so to say. At every passing occasion, the country’s top army generals like to reiterate this notion.
The current Egyptian Defense Minister, General Aboud Zaki, is eager to let both friends and foes know that Egypt’s army possesses highest levels of combat capability in the Middle East. This refrain is not just aimed at boosting the morale of the personnel in the country’s armed services but also to draw global attention to the reinvigorated muscle of Egypt’s arsenal.
A report said General Zaki met on Tuesday with the rank and file of the Egyptian Army in Cairo and conveyed the greetings of President Abdel El-Sisi to them as well as to the Egyptian people on the 66th anniversary of the July 23 revolution.
The Commander-in-chief, who talked gleefully about the army’s diligence and its war-fighting readiness, stressed the importance of soldiers following non-traditional methods during their training in order to carry out extraordinary missions.
Later, General Zaki held talks with the soldiers on the current developments and challenges in the Middle East and the Arab world which the Egyptian national security is facing as well as other national issues.
