About thirty suspects have been arrested in connection with the recent violent protests that rocked Sagamu in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State over the scarcity of fuel and naira notes.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Frank Mba, made this known when he led his men and soldiers to the scene of the protest.
Mr. Mba, who warned the populace against violent protests ,said that such could compound the already fragile situation in the country. Banks and business premises were attacked and set ablaze, cars were looted and burnt, while shops were forced to remain shut.
Mostly affected was Oba Erinwole Road, where about seven branches of commercial banks were attacked with their ATM machines vandalized and looted.
