Head Coach of the Nigeria Flying Eagles, Mr. Ladan Bosso has blamed the semi-final loss to Gambia on a poor tactical approach by the opposing side.

Flying Eagles failed to push on a record eight AFCON crown after a seventh-minute goal from Gambian forward Bojang sent the seventh-time champions out of the race for the title at the Cairo International Stadium yesterday .

After conceding in the 7th minute of the encounter, the Flying Eagles went on to dominate all proceedings, before striker Abdullahi missed a penalty kick in the 86th minute after a VAR check.

Despite Gambia playing the last six minutes with a man down, Nigeria could not break her defence which had not conceded a goal in the tournament.

Despite the defeat, Nigeria will still be in Egypt with the Flying Eagles having a chance to settle for a bronze medal when the squad faces Tunisia also crashed out in the semi final
