LASG DECLARES THREE-DAY MOURNING FOR DEAD TRAIN VICTIMS

The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu, has declared a statewide three day mourning for the six people who died in last Thursday’s accident involving a train and a bus at PWD area of Ikeja,Lagos.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu , who has announced this when he visited the scores of injured victims at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja, directed that flags be flown at half mast.

The Governor also suspended all campaign activities of the All progressive Congress, APC, in the state during the mourning period and directed that workers in the employ of the goverment should close at midday on Friday.

Acknowledging that 85 passengers were on board the staff bus, Governor Sanwo-olu noted that two lives were lost at the scene while four others gave up the ghost in the hospital.

The Governor ,who commended his political opponents for visiting the scene of the accidents and applauded the state Emergency Management Agency( LASEMA ) and other responders, urged residents to voluntarily donate blood to assist the accident victims.
