The Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) in Lagos State has presented the certificates of return to the Governor-elect, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu, his running mate , Dr Obafemi Hamzat and the 40 elected members of the State’s House of Assembly.
The certificate of return presentation was held under tight security at the INEC State Secretaria in Yaba.
The Supervising INEC National Commissioner, Mr Sam Olumekun presented certificates of return to the Governor-elect and his deputy , while Lagos Resident Commissioner, Mr Olusegun Agbaje presented certificates of return to the 40 members of the State Assembly.
Mr Agbaje who commended all INEC stakeholders for their credibility nationwide throuhout the electoral process, called on politicians to shun the use of violence and do- or- die attitude in politics for a better nation.
Shortly after receiving his certificate of return, Governor Sanwo-olu promised to complete all on-going projects and fund new onesh for the benefit of all residents.
The Governor who again extended a hand of fellowship to his fellow contestants in the gubernatorial election to join hands with his administration to build a greater LagosWhile urging all aggrieved parties to seek redress in a court of law,
Governor Sanwo-olu sued for peaceful coexistence among all tribes in the state irrespective of ethnicity or religious affiliation, noting that the unity of all residents in the state will bring more progress.
The Speaker of theHouse of Assembly, Chief Mudashiru Obasa promised that the legislative arm wouldl support the Governor-elect to deliver more dividends of democracy to Lagos residents.
