The date for Nigeria Premier Football League 2022/23 Season, Super Six has been released by the Interim Management Committee (IMC)with a kick off date of June 3 and final day of Sunday, June 11.

The Head of Operations of the IMC ,Mr. Davidson Owumi explained that the revision of the schedule was agreed with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to accommodate the league and the Federation Cup.

He stated further that following a meeting with the NFF, a new schedule was arrived at and this would see the finals of the Federation Cup continuing after the Super Six on June 11.

In the calendar of events, teams are expected to arrive on June 1 while match officials will arrive Lagos on June 2 with the first games holding on June 3.

There will be three games on each match day with free days in between each match day.

The IMC approved format will declare as Champions, the team with the highest points at the completion of the matches.

With each of the six teams playing each other, there will be a total of 15 games on five match days.

The regular season of the NPFL which was abridged into two groups will be concluded on May 21 with the three top teams in each group qualifying for the play-off.

Nigeria qualifies for b’ball event at the African P/ Games

Nigeria men’s wheelchair basketball team has qualified for the 2023 African Para Games in Ghana.

Nigeria defeated Ghana, Gambia and Senegal at the just concluded International Wheelchair Basketball Federation African Para Games qualifier in Accra on Sunday.

The President of Nigeria Wheelchair Basketball Federation,Mr. Seyi Johnson commended the resilient spirit of the players and technical crew.

Mr. Johnson said that the board member made a wise decision to source for sponsors for the men’s wheelchair basketball team to participate in the qualifiers.

He called on potential sponsors to key into the developmental programmes of the new board of Wheelchair Basketball Federation.
