SUPER EAGLES CAMP IN UYO HOTS UP FOR WORLD CUP

A few players are still being expected at the Super Eagles camp in Uyo as the national team begins final preparations for next month’s World Cup in Russia.
It is understood that striker Victor Moses will join his team-mates in Uyo any time from now, ahead of Monday’s international friendly against the Simba of the Democratic Republic of Congo, in Port Harcourt.
Skipper John Mikel Obi will be the last to get to the Super Eagles camp when the on-going Chinese football league where he is currently playing, ends next Wednesday.
Reports say the camp is already bubbling with the likes of Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Daniel Akpeyi, Francis Uzoho, Dele Ajiboye, William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Elderson Echiejile, Tyronne Ebuehi, Stephen Eze, Junior Lokosa, Eddy Onazi and Kenneth Omeruo.
Others are Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Chidozie Awaziem and Oghenekaro Etebo, Odion Ighalo, Brian Idowu, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo, Leon Balogun, Uche Agbo, Joel Obi, Mikel Agu and Moses Simon are also in.
After Monday’s game, Nigeria will then take on England in a prestige encounter at Wembley Stadium in London on June 2, before trading tackles with the Czech Republic in Austria on June 6. The team will camp for nine days in Austria before flying to its allotted base camp in Yessentuki, Stavropol region of Russia on June 11.
Nigeria, which will be making its sixth appearance at the World Cup in Russia, is in Group D and will begin its campaign against Croatia before taking on Iceland and then Argentina.
