FIFA RAINS DOLLARS FOR 2018 WORLD CUP TEAMS

It is simply a matter of dollar rain for footballers and team officials. The body governing football affairs in the world, FIFA, has rolled out what each team that participated in the 2018 World Cup in Russia would get. FIFA says France, the winner of the Mundial, will get $38 million while Croatia that placed second takes home $28 million.
Third place winner, Belgium, gets $24 million while the fourth, England, is getting $22 million.
The four teams that were knocked out at the quarterfinal stage – Uruguay, Brazil, Russia and Sweden, each received $16 million, while the teams which reached the last 16 earned $12 million each.
They include – Portugal, Argentina, Mexico, Japan, Spain, Denmark, Switzerland and Colombia.
For simply qualifying for the tournament and playing in the group stage, the 16 teams which did not make it to the knockout rounds received $8 million each.
They include the defending champions, Germany; all five African representatives – Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Nigeria and Senegal – as well as Peru, Australia, Iceland, Iran, Serbia, Costa Rica, South Korea, Panama, Poland and Saudi Arabia.
On the whole, FIFA is doling out four hundred million dollars from the sale of tickets/gate takings and radio/television rights for live matches, for the month-long sporting fiesta in Russia.
