Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC,) has expressed concern over cases of violence and late arrival of electoral materials in the Presidential and National Assembly Elections across the country.
In a statement by its President, ComradeJoe Ajaero, the labour union called on the security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) to sit up and correct all the logistic challenges and violence to avoid a repeat in the Gubernatorial and State Assembly Election.
According to the statement, NLC had high hopes that the election cycle would be far better than the previous ones given the huge lessons learnt from past elections by INEC.
It urged INEC to deal with the voter intimidation and ballot box snatching that were reported in some parts of the country.
The statement noted the attack of voters at the polling units would help unleash voter apathy in subsequent elections.
