The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress(APC) , Senator Bola Tinubu has been declared the President-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).
Senator Tinubu , who won in 12 states, scored the highest number of votes in last Saturday’s Presidential Election, to emerge victorious in the poll, ahead of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP).
Receiving his Certificate of Return from the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakub, Senator Tinubu expressed his readiness to collaborate with his co-contestants in the critical task of nation-building.
The president-elect noted that many people voted against him and were therefore embittered at the electoral outcome. He urged them to appreciate the fact that Nigeria remained their fatherland and desired their meaningful contributions for sustainable development.
Senator Tinubu promised to maintain an open-door policy in order to continuously attract the positive inputs of well meaning Nigerians.
Meanwhile, The People’s Democratic Party(PDP),Labour Party (LP) and African Democratic Congress(ADC) have passed a vote of no confidence on Professor Yakub accusing him of bias and partisanship.
