The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to disclose details of the measures being taken by his administration to obey the recent Supreme Court decision .
The decision is on the extension of the validity of the old N200, N500, N1,000 notes, till December 31, this year and the and that the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) should continue to receive the old notes from Nigerians.

SERAP also urged President Buhari to publicly instruct the CBN to implement the Supreme Court decision ordering an end to the cash withdrawal limits imposed by banks because such restrictions violate citizens’ right to freely use their assets.

SERAP also enjoined the President to disclose the evidence of his directive to the CBN to immediately re-circulate the old N200, N500, and N1,000 notes as ordered by the Supreme Court.

In the letter signed by SERAP Deputy Director, Mr Kolawole Oluwadare, the organisation said disclosing the measures that the Federal Government and the CBN were taking to implement the Supreme Court decision would also enable Nigerians to monitor and scrutinise the level of compliance with the decision.
