The National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA) has issued a warning of severe floodings this year.
Director-General of NEMA, Alhaji Mustapha Ahmed, gave the warning at a forum in Abuja.
He described last year’s flood disaster in the country as an eye-opener and pledged that the agency would spread early warning messages to states, local government areas and the Federal Capital Territory.
Alhaji Ahmed urged Nigerians living around water channels and flood plains to relocate to safer grounds.
