JAMB accuses candidate of inflating result to become highest scorer

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board. (JAMB) has accused one Ejikeme Mmesoma of artificially inflating her score and falsely declaring herself as the top scorer for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to JAMB, Mmesoma had manipulated her score to secure a three million naira scholarship from Innoson Motor Manufacturing Company Limited . Nnewi, Anambra State and was about to receive recognition from his home state. government, the Anambra State Government before she was exposed.

A statement from the board said that, it was compelled to rectify the situation and unequivocally state that many of the candidates’ results were fraudulent.

It said, that an official contacted JAMB to verify Mmesoma’s claim, only to discover that she had actually scored 247 instead of the claimed 362 .

JAMB in addition said, that it would be prosecuting her while withdrawing the candidate’s original result.
